With innovative solutions and messages, the international forum "Clusters for digital and green development of the regions", which took place in Burgas on September 13 this year, ended.
Representatives of the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria, local authorities, experts, scientists, members of the public and business took an active part in the event, which is part of the ICT Greening Up Initiative project, financed under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism (Norway Grants) 2014-2021. program "Development of business, innovation and small and medium-sized enterprises". The initiative is managed by the ICT Cluster-Burgas, in partnership with the ProspectiM association and with the active participation of ICT-Norway.
The forum was attended by the Deputy Minister of Environment and Water Reneta Georgieva, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Nataliya Miteva and the Deputy Mayor of Burgas Municipality Vesna Baltina.
Fredrik Syversen, who is the director of "Strategies and corporate development" of ICT Norway, the rector of the University "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov" Prof. Dr. Hristo Bozov and the Rector of Burgas Free University Prof. Milen Baltov.
Vencislava Janchovska from Innovation Norway joined the event with a thematic video.
For several months, the ICT Greening Up Initiative team supports and accelerates the green transformation of the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector in the Burgas region. The initiative is part of the creation of the new generation of so-called "born green" ICT companies and entrepreneurs. The project supports operating enterprises in their transition from traditional to more sustainable business models. It provides local companies with training and competence building on topics such as sustainable business models, green innovation, circular economy and resource and energy efficiency.
The events within the "Clusters for digital and green development of the regions" will also be in this context.
Prof. Sotir Sotirov, who is the vice-rector of the University "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov" and a member of the DIGIHUB Board, the entrepreneur Ivaylo Slavov, who is the executive director of Finance Partner and chairman of Easy Consult.
The moderator of the discussion module dedicated to the transition of companies to a circular economy was Ivelina Vasileva, in her capacity as a member of the board of the Mission to the European Commission for the protection of the ocean, seas and waters.
The workshops were also attended by Ivana Tsvetkova, Program Director for the Sustainable Development Goals, Association "Bulgarian Network of the UN Global Compact", Ina Agafonova, representative of the DIGIHUB tools of the EEN network for accelerating the green transformation of the ICT sector, as well as and many other specialists related to the digital and green development of the regions.
