The city of Burgas is situated on the coast of the Burgas gulf. The average altitude above sea level is 17 m. The climate is mild, temperately continental with a significant impact from the Black Sea.

The average summer temperature is around 26.4 C, and the sea-water temperature 24,7 C.The number of sunny days during the summer varies between 24 and 27 per month with an average of 10-11 hours sunlight per day. The winter is mild and most of the time there are no snowfalls. During the winter the average air temperature is 4,6 C and the average sea water temperature is 7,4 C. Thanks to the impact of the Black Sea, autumn here is longer and warmer compared to the inner part of the country but thre soirng is longer and colder and comes around a month later.
