  • Burgas Digital 2025: Burgas Calculates Its Digital Future

On October 17, 2025, the International Congress Center in Burgas once again became the stage for the leading event on artificial intelligence, innovation, and digital transformation – Burgas Digital 2025.

Under the motto “Calculate the Future,” the conference brought together representatives from business, academia, and the public sector to discuss real-world applications of AI and Bulgaria’s role in the European digital economy.

The event was organized by DIGIHUB, the Municipality of Burgas, Sofia Tech Park, ARC Fund, Vivacom, and AIBEST, with the support of ICT Cluster Burgas – a partner and co-organizer of Burgas Digital since its very first edition.

National Policies and Technologies of the Future

The official opening brought together key figures such as Zornitsa Russinova (Economic and Social Council), Mihail Nenov (Municipality of Burgas), Petko Georgiev (DIGIHUB and ICT Cluster Burgas), Ruslan Stefanov (ARC Consulting), and Mihail Iliev (Sofia Tech Park).

The keynote speech was delivered by Martin Danovski, Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth, who outlined the government’s vision for innovation and technology transfer through 2040.

Practical Innovations and Regional Connectivity

Among the highlights of Burgas Digital 2025 were the new laboratory complex of DIGIHUB, presented by Stoyan Nikolov, and the “Digital Accelerator” program, which measures and enhances the digital maturity of enterprises.

During the conference, the European project 5GEDGE4HEALTH was also presented, implemented with the participation of Vivacom, the Municipality of Burgas, DIGIHUB, and the “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” University. The project aims to improve access to pediatric healthcare through 5G, telemedicine, and smart mobile clinics in 34 settlements across the region.

An Ecosystem of Partnerships

The event also featured the panel “Ecosystems and Applications of New Technologies,” with representatives from Legrand, Innovation Capital, BGDA, GATE, and VIVACOM discussing the future of industrial automation, gaming, and smart cities.

The final panel, part of the “Entrepreneur’s Tour” initiative, was dedicated to young innovators and startups – a clear sign that Burgas continues to be a center of entrepreneurial spirit.

“With every edition of Burgas Digital, we prove that collaboration between business, academia, and institutions can bring about real change.
Burgas no longer just follows trends – it sets them.”
– shared Petko Georgiev, Chairman of the Board of ICT Cluster Burgas and DIGIHUB.

ICT Cluster Burgas continues to actively contribute to the development of the digital ecosystem in Southeast Bulgaria, supporting innovation, new partnerships, and knowledge transfer between companies, universities, and the public sector.
